About Us

The DAK Foundation Inc. is a labor of love to serve and support our four-legged friends. We strongly believe our calling is to help shelter, foster and rescue dogs – and owners – in times of need. We’re happy to share short profiles of some folks behind The DAK Foundation Inc. and the pets that inspire us to care for our furry friends in need.

Meet DAK

DAK was a much-loved family pet and provided the inspiration for founding The DAK Foundation Inc. The Foundation focuses on taking care of our furry friends — and their owners — in times of need. His legacy lives on with The DAK Foundation Inc.

In 2020 “Dak” passed away and we rescued “Buddy” then my wife of 56 years Diane passed away. Two months later Buddy passed away and my kids said, “Dad you need a dog.”  I said I am only going to get a puppy and a miracle brought this great little doggie. Next challenge was to name him with a D for Diane. My daughter Amy came up with “Dunkin” since my wife Diane drank Dunkin' coffee every day. Now “Dunkin” is the new mascot of the DAK Foundation Inc
